Drummer Rubens Barsotti (Rubinho) in the eyes of former students: musician and educator.


Abstract: The subject of this research is the drummer Rubens Barsotti (Rubinho), founder of the Zimbo Trio. The research focuses on the musical genre known as samba-jazz, highlighting the perspectives of various academic authors on the subject, as well as musicians who were involved in this musical scene. Interviews were conducted with drummers Giba Favery, Lauro Lellis, and Pércio Sappia, former students of Rubens Barsotti, who reveal details of their studies with the musician and point to works by the Zimbo Trio for the discussion of his musical performance on the drums.
